Christian Mahler

Christian Mahler serves as Professor for Motion Design and Dean of the Bachelor's program in Design at HAWK University of Applied Sciences and Arts' Faculty of Design in Hildesheim. His office is located in Room HIWE_111 at Renatastraße 11, with office hours held Wednesdays 9–11 a.m. by email appointment.

Specializing in Motion Design and visual communication, Professor Mahler leads the foundational teaching framework centered around nine core competencies for design education. His work emphasizes strategic, integrative, and team-oriented approaches to design practice as reflected in both the Bachelor's and Master's programs under his purview.

Throughout his career, he has demonstrated strong leadership in academic administration, previously serving as Vice Rector for Teaching and Research (2016–2017) and Vice Dean (2010–2014) at BTK – University of Design (now University of Europe). His earlier artistic collaboration at Film University Babelsberg 'Konrad Wolf' established his foundation in motion media education.

Professor Mahler maintains professional presence through Instagram and Vimeo platforms, showcasing his motion design expertise and educational philosophy. His current role integrates academic leadership with hands-on motion design instruction, shaping curriculum development for next-generation design practitioners.
