Christian Loos

Christian Loos is a Research Fellow at the Department of Medical Ethics and History of Medicine, University Medical Center Göttingen (University of Göttingen). His work integrates medical ethics with philosophical-anthropological and institutional perspectives, focusing on ethically responsible technology-mediated care (AI/robotics) and participatory decision-making across patient, institutional, and social contexts.

He holds a First State Examination in Philosophy, History, German, and Educational Science. Currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Münster since 2017, his dissertation examines Feuerbach's anthropology under PD. Dr. Andreas Vieth and Prof. Dr. Michal Quante.

Loos's research spans medical ethics, vulnerability theory, and technology ethics with emphasis on privacy, autonomy, and dignity in care settings. He investigates epistemic justice in institutional roles and develops participatory frameworks for ethical policy in controversial domains like nuclear waste disposal and energy transition, combining empirical case studies with normative analysis.

As lead researcher in NaMeKI, he analyzes ethical human-robot interaction in care through patient/caregiver studies. In PPPI, he designs youth/parent participation models for neurological disease research. He provides ethical consultation for BGZ/BASE and moderates citizen forums in TRANSENS, translating moral perspectives into governance solutions for high-stakes societal challenges.
