Christian Jantzen is a Professor at the Department of Communication and Psychology, Aalborg University, within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. He specializes in Experience Design, Aesthetic Theory, and Cultural Analysis. Over 30 years of research focuses on semiotics, consumer behavior, and market communication, supplemented by sociology, psychology, and philosophy.
Education:
- Ph.D. (1998)
- MA in Scandinavian Studies, Utrecht University (1987)
Research Interests: His work bridges aesthetics, sustainability, and experience design. Notable contributions include the ET (Experiences & Aesthetics) research group with Rasmus Grøn, exploring spatial scales in future experiences and sustainable aesthetic practices. His projects include studies on visitor experience in science museums and consumer behavior in retail environments.
Teaching: Leads courses in Communication & Digital Media, IT Master’s in Experience Design, and Communication programs. Over 35 years of teaching experience, supervising 100+ theses and 8 PhD students (6 successfully defended).
