Christian Hawkey is a Professor in the Department of Writing at Pratt Institute's School of Liberal Arts & Sciences. His work spans poetry, translation, and cross-genre experimentation. He holds a B.A. from Pepperdine University and an M.F.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Research interests include innovative poetic forms, multilingual collaboration, and the intersection of philosophy with literary practice. Notable works include THE BOOK OF FUNNELS (Kate Tufts Discovery Award winner), VENTRAKL, and translations of German and Moroccan writers. Current projects involve co-translating Moroccan philosopher Abdessalam Benabdelali's essays with Marouane Zakhir, set for publication by Seagull Books.
