Dr. Christian Grov is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Community Health and Social Sciences at CUNY Graduate School of Public Health & Health Policy. He serves as Co-Director of the Development Core at the Einstein-CUNY-Rockefeller Center for AIDS Research (CFAR). His research centers on sexual and gender minority health, with focus areas including HIV/STI prevention, substance use, and sex work.
He has co-authored 240+ peer-reviewed publications and secured research funding from NIH and CDC. As Associate Editor of Journal of Sex Research and former Editor-in-Chief of Sexuality Research and Social Policy, he shapes scholarly discourse in sexual health.
Research interests include:
- HIV prevention and care
- LGBTQ+ health disparities
- Substance use patterns
- Sex work health interventions
- Telehealth accessibility
Publications demonstrate strong focus on PrEP implementation, health disparities in sexual minorities, and pandemic impacts on LGBTQ+ communities. Recent work increasingly examines telehealth and intersectional health barriers.
Honors include 2023 election as Fellow of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS). He advises NYC Department of Health's HIV Prevention Planning Group and previously served on the Board of Directors for HOOK, a sex worker health organization.
