Christian Grose

Christian Grose is a Professor of Political Science and Public Policy at the University of Southern California (USC), holding dual appointments in the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences and the USC Schwarzenegger Institute for State and Global Policy. His leadership roles include Academic Director of the Schwarzenegger Institute and former Director of the Political Science and International Relations Ph.D. program. Grose is a prominent scholar of American government, electoral systems, and voting rights, with over 60 peer-reviewed articles and the award-winning book *Congress in Black and White* (2011). His research focuses on legislative behavior, racial representation, and electoral reforms, often employing experimental methods. He has raised $3 million+ for research initiatives, including efforts to expand voter access through polling place expansions and election administration studies. Grose’s work bridges academia and policy, advising governments and advocacy organizations on election reform and democratic institutions.

Education: Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Rochester (2003), B.A. in Political Science from Duke University (1996).

Labs & Initiatives: Leads the USC Price California Issues Poll and co-founded the USC Predoctoral Institute for Scholars of Color to support underrepresented students.
