Christian Graff

Christian Graff is an HDR lecturer at the University of Grenoble Alpes, affiliated with the Laboratory of Psychology and Neuro-Cognition (LPNC). His research spans multiple disciplines including neurosciences, psychophysique, and ethology, with a focus on perception-action loops, animal behavior, sensory substitution, and rhythms. He serves as a disability reference teacher for psychology students at the university.

Graff's research interests center on irregular rhythms, intermodal sensory perception, and human/cognitive systems. His work explores how rhythmic patterns in biological systems inform our understanding of temporal processing, from electric fish signaling to human finger-tapping and eye blinking. He investigates sensory substitution systems to assist visually impaired individuals in spatial navigation and has developed innovative approaches to multimodal guidance using sound metaphors.
