Christian Gerald Daniel

Christian Gerald Daniel is a Junior Assistant Professor at Utrecht University's Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, specializing in Energy & Resources. His research focuses on sustainable infrastructure development with particular expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), environmental analysis of urban infrastructures, and asphalt engineering for road construction.

Dr. Daniel holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology (2015-2018) where he also worked as a researcher on synthetic polymer fiber-reinforced warm mix asphalt. His current research with the CIRCUROAD consortium involves environmental impact and market assessments of bio-based feedstocks as potential substitute materials for road construction in the Netherlands.

His research interests span sustainable construction materials, Life Cycle Assessment, material flow analysis, pavement engineering, and civil engineering technology. He has published extensively on polymer-modified asphalt mixtures, examining their environmental impacts, mechanical properties, and performance characteristics through laboratory-scale testing and analysis.
