Christian Geiger

Christian Geiger is a Professor for Mixed Reality and Visualization at Hochschule Düsseldorf's Faculty of Media since November 2004. He leads the Innovationshub, a research lab near Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof where students collaborate with SMEs on digitalization projects.

• Studied computer science at University of Paderborn
• Graduate scholarship at the graduate college "Parallele Rechnernetzwerke in der Produktionstechnik"
• 1998 PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) in "Schneller Entwurf interaktiver 3D-Animationen"
• 1997-2001: Project management and 3D/VR/AR development at Siemens
• Subsequent teaching/research at Hochschule Harz as Professor for Animation and 3D Graphics, coordinating the Media Informatics program

His research focuses on user-centered development of human-technology interfaces, including: intelligent systems, virtual/augmented reality, information visualization, and algorithm design. Teaching modules include:

• BMI 14: Formale Modelle und Algorithmen (formal models, data structures, algorithm paradigms)
• BMI 93: Informationsvisualisierung (data visualization techniques, multivariate analysis)
• MMI 05.05: Interaktive Visualisierung (interactive 3D visualization, VR/AR applications)

Coordinates the interdisciplinary EnerPRO projects for cross-border SMEs in renewable energy applications, working with ZIES (Center for Innovative Energy Systems).
