Christian Catalini

Christian Catalini is a Research Scientist at the MIT Sloan School of Management and founder of the MIT Cryptoeconomics Lab. He previously held the Theodore T. Miller Career Development Professorship and served as an Associate Professor in Technological Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Management. His research focuses on blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and their economic implications.

Education: PhD from the University of Toronto (Rotman School), MSc from Bocconi University. He co-created Diem (formerly Libra) and serves as Chief Economist of the Diem Association.

Research explores blockchain's impact on digital finance, regulatory frameworks, and decentralized platforms. His work has been featured in Nature, Science, and major media outlets. He advises policymakers, central banks, and regulatory bodies globally.
