Dr. Christian Böhning is an Associate Professor at the University of Warwick's Mathematics Institute, specializing in algebraic geometry, representation theory, and birational geometry. His research explores derived category methods in birational geometry and birational automorphism groups.
His work contributes to understanding rationality problems in invariant theory and equivariant birational geometry, with recent publications on cubic fourfolds and derived categories. He has supervised multiple PhD and Master's students in algebraic geometry topics.
Dr. Böhning received awards including Preis des Stiftungsrates (2011) and was Bundeswettbewerb Mathematik champion (1997). He holds an ERC Starting Grant for research on geometric measure theory aspects.
