معرفی
Christian Beck is a Professor of Applied Mathematics and Head of the Centre for Complex Systems at Queen Mary University of London. He leads the Dynamical Systems and Statistical Physics Group and chairs the EPS Statistical and Nonlinear Physics Division. His research focuses on stochastic modeling, complex systems, power grids, air pollution, and axionic dark matter. He has held major grants, including EPSRC funding for load balancing in power grids and EU projects on environmental systems.
- Editorial roles: Scientific Reports, Physica A, Entropy, Frontiers in Complex Systems.
- Key awards: FIMA, EPS Statistical and Nonlinear Physics Prize 2019.
Research Interests
Beck’s work applies statistical physics to real-world problems like sustainable energy systems, power grid dynamics, and environmental monitoring. His superstatistics framework is widely used in analyzing complex systems. Recent studies include machine learning for water quality and air pollution analysis.
Awards & Grants
Recipient of £361k STFC grant (2025-2027) on power grid stability and £497k EPSRC grant on Nash equilibria for load balancing. Active in policy impact research on air quality and water monitoring.
Teams & Labs
Head of the Centre for Complex Systems, collaborating with researchers on interdisciplinary projects. Supervises PhD students in quantum turbulence, air pollution, and data-driven modeling.
