Christian SEIGNEUR

Christian SEIGNEUR is a Professor and Director of the Center for Teaching and Research in Earth Sciences (CEREA), a joint laboratory between the National School of Bridges and Roads (École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées) and EDF R&D. His research focuses on air quality modeling, urban environmental systems, and atmospheric chemistry-meteorology interactions. He leads interdisciplinary projects addressing pollution dispersion, industrial emissions, and climate change impacts.

SEIGNEUR's work emphasizes multi-scale modeling frameworks, including the development of the Street-in-Grid model to simulate urban pollution dynamics. He has pioneered methodologies for coupling traffic, air quality, and water quality models, advancing integrated environmental management strategies. His expertise spans regulatory policy support, emission control evaluations, and the reconfiguration of expertise in urban modeling.

Key contributions include studies on particulate matter formation from anthropogenic and biogenic sources, roadway pollution impacts on urban water systems, and the effects of climate change on air quality. He has validated models against experimental datasets in Lebanon and Europe, contributing to regional air quality management frameworks.

His research group collaborates with international organizations to improve predictive capabilities for secondary organic aerosols, mercury emissions, and trace metal deposition. SEIGNEUR's work bridges academic research with industrial applications, ensuring practical solutions for complex environmental challenges.
