Christian Ahmarani is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at Université de Montréal's Faculty of Medicine. He specializes in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery, with subspecialty expertise in facial reconstruction and voice restoration techniques. Ahmarani completed medical training at Université de Montréal followed by advanced fellowship training in facial reconstruction in France.
His clinical innovations include developing the laryngeal implant for voice restoration in vocal cord paralysis patients and pioneering techniques in orbital decompression, nasal valve surgery, and mastoid graft applications. Research examines EMG applications in voice fatigue and innovative surgical approaches for craniofacial reconstruction.
Ahmarani established the supra-regional referral center for phono-surgery at Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont (HMR) and founded its multidisciplinary cranio-maxillofacial surgery unit. He has held leadership roles including Presidency of the Association d'ORL et de chirurgie cervico-faciale du Québec and directorship of Université de Montréal's Division of Otolaryngology and Cervico-Facial Surgery.
