Christiaan Monden is a Professor of Sociology and Demography and Director of Graduate Studies at Nuffield College, University of Oxford. His research focuses on social inequality, family dynamics, health, and demographic patterns. He leads major projects like the ERC-funded FamSizeMatters and the Norface ERA-NET CritEvents, exploring how social origins, family structures, and critical life events shape inequality. Monden also collaborates internationally on global family change through the Global Family Change Project and twin fertility studies.
