Christel Larsson

Christel Larsson is Professor and Pro-Dean at the University of Gothenburg's Faculty of Education, with joint appointment in the Department of Food and Nutrition and Sport Science. Her research examines health promotion through nutrition and physical activity, particularly in children and adolescents. Awarded the Kungliga Skytteanska Samfundets Prize and Dr. Pers Food's Research Prize, she leads investigations on dietary patterns and nutritional assessment methods.

Research focuses on nutritional epidemiology, dietary assessment methodologies, and public health interventions. Current projects investigate plant-based diets among Swedish youth, obesity interventions, and children's food perception. As faculty leader, she supervises doctoral candidates in nutrition science and public health.

Recent publications demonstrate strong focus on micronutrient adequacy across dietary patterns, weight management interventions, and children's nutritional behaviors. Work frequently employs randomized controlled trials and longitudinal nutritional status assessments.
