Christel Bidet-Ildei is a Professor at the Faculty of Sport Sciences, University of Poitiers, and serves as Director of the Cognition and Learning Research Center (CeRCA) and MSHS. Her research focuses on the perception-action relationship, perceptual-motor development, and action-semantics relationship, with applications in motor rehabilitation and educational psychology.
- University of Poitiers, Faculty of Sport Sciences
- CeRCA Research Center leadership
- Collaborations: University of Tokyo, University of Tübingen, Grenoble University Hospital, SCALAB (Lille), SMAS (Geneva), CHArt (Paris-Créteil)
Research Interests span sensorimotor integration, biological motion perception, and the interplay between action observation and language processing. Her work explores how motor experiences shape cognitive functions, particularly in aging and autism spectrum disorders (ASD), using point-light displays and kinematic analysis.
Recent Publications highlight the role of kinematic observation in memory performance (2025), motor rehabilitation applications (2024), and developmental studies on action-language links (2022). She co-developed the PLAViMoP database for standardized point-light display research (2022).
Supervision includes PhD students Sophie-Anne Beauprez (2015-2018), Aurélie Benchekri (2020), Evan Launay (2020), and Victor Francisco (2021), focusing on autism-related motor disorders, rehabilitation techniques, and embodied cognition.
Academic Leadership includes directing the EXSECO team (2018-2022), managing CeRCA’s embodied cognition group (2013-2021), and coordinating Master’s programs in Rehabilitation Engineering (2015-2021).
