Christan Grant is an Arnold and Lisa Goldberg Rising Star Associate Professor in the Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering at the University of Florida's Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. He leads the UF Data Studio research group, focusing on data acquisition, interactive machine learning, and visualization.
His research develops frameworks for fair and interpretable AI systems, with applications in social media analysis, health informatics, and information retrieval. Recent publications address fairness in evolving learning environments and multimodal question-answering architectures, demonstrating his commitment to responsible AI development. His work has received funding from NSF, FAA, USDA, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
