معرفی
Chris Synodinos is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Language, Literature & Culture at Clark University. His work bridges ancient philosophy, early Christian theology, and classical literature, with a focus on intersections between body politics, medical history, and gender studies. His recent research includes studies on St. Radegunde’s medieval medical writings, Hannibal’s military logistics, and Origen’s theological engagement with Stoic philosophy.
He has published in venues such as Edinburgh University Press and Bibliotheca Ephemeridum Theologicarum Lovaniensium, with forthcoming work from Arc Humanities Press. His interdisciplinary approach connects classical antiquity to modern theoretical frameworks, exemplified by his analysis of virginity in posthumous identity through comparative readings of Christian and pagan texts.
Research interests include early Christian texts’ engagement with Greco-Roman thought, the material culture of leprosy in late antiquity, and the rhetorical strategies of ancient military narratives. His scholarship emphasizes methodological interplay between philology and critical theory.
