معرفی
Chris Stubenrauch is a Research Fellow in Microbiology at Monash University, specializing in bacterial cell biology, antimicrobial resistance, and protein transport mechanisms. He leads a project funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) on bacterial secretion systems for nanobiotechnology applications (2023–2026). His research focuses on efflux pumps, membrane protein assembly, and the translocation and assembly module (TAM) in bacterial outer membranes.
Key achievements include developing platforms like PncsHub for annotating non-classically secreted proteins and discovering conserved rules in β-barrel membrane protein assembly. His work addresses global health challenges such as antibiotic resistance through studies on Klebsiella spp. and Staphylococcus aureus evolution.
- Recipient of awards: The CSL Prize (2017), Fred Collins Award (2019), and ASBMB Fellowship (2019).
- Serves as Treasurer of the ASM Vic Branch and peer reviewer for journals like Microbiology Spectrum and Nature Communications.
- Contributions to media include discussions on 'Blue Sky Research' and interviews on microbiology advancements.
Research outputs span 37 publications, emphasizing protein assembly dynamics, membrane integrity, and bacterial pathogenesis mechanisms. His work bridges fundamental biology with applications in nanotechnology and clinical microbiology.
