Chris Sebelski, Ph.D., PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, is the Department Chair and Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training at Saint Louis University's Doisy College of Health Sciences. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education and Leadership from Saint Louis University and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California. His professional experience spans over two decades in academic leadership, clinical education, and research.
Dr. Sebelski's research focuses on leadership competencies, self-efficacy, clinical reasoning, visual analysis of movement, and evidence-based practice. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, including work on leadership frameworks in physical therapy and clinical reasoning methodologies. His leadership roles include directing the SLU-SSM Health Physical Therapy Orthopedic Residency Program and serving on national committees such as the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education.
Dr. Sebelski is actively involved in professional organizations like the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and has received awards for teaching and leadership, including the James H. Korn Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Award (2018). His educational contributions include curriculum development in clinical reasoning and interprofessional education. He maintains clinical practice through the SLU Physical Therapy Clinic and has led initiatives to enhance healthcare access for underserved populations.
Key grants and projects include studies on leader self-efficacy in higher education and the integration of entrepreneurship education in health professions. His work emphasizes bridging academic and clinical practice to improve patient outcomes and healthcare delivery systems.
