Chris Plack is the Ellis Llwyd Jones Professor of Audiology at the University of Manchester and holds a joint appointment as Professor of Auditory Neuroscience at Lancaster University. His research focuses on auditory neuroscience, psychoacoustics, and hearing impairment, with a particular emphasis on cochlear function, speech perception in noise, and noise-induced hearing loss. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed articles and serves on editorial boards for Hearing Research and Trends in Hearing. Plack has received accolades including the Thomas Simm Littler Prize (2021) and election as a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America (2003).
