Dr Chris Payne is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling. His research focuses on aquatic microbiology, particularly antimicrobial resistance and host-microbe relationships in farmed fish.
- Current IDRC-funded project developing novel vaccines for Pangasius catfish
- Uses both traditional and advanced methods for bacterial pathogen characterization
- Investigates aquaculture practices' impact on fish microbiomes
