The Martin Memory Lab investigates the cognitive neuroscience of human memory, with a focus on:
- Neural bases of long-term memory
- Memory's interaction with perception, decision-making, and motor control
- Memory changes across the lifespan
- Interventions to enhance memory in aging populations
Research methodologies include fMRI, EEG, eye tracking, motion tracking, and behavioral experiments. Studies span cognitively healthy individuals and those with memory disorders. Recent publications emphasize hippocampal activity modulation in aging, object recognition in the medial temporal lobe, and neural differentiation of memory signals.
The lab is actively recruiting graduate students for Fall 2026. Collaborations include work with Dr. Morgan Barense and Dr. Stefan Kӧhler.
