Chris M. Yim is an Associate Professor and Program Director for the MS in Global Strategic Communication at Loyola University Chicago's School of Communication. With over 20 years of global PR consultancy experience managing communications for 100+ firms and governments, she integrates industry expertise into academia.
Her educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Communication Studies from Sungkyunkwan University
- M.A. in Advertising and Public Relations from Yonsei University
- B.A. in French Language and Literature from Ewha Womans University
Dr. Yim specializes in strategic communication with expertise in Public Relations, Crisis Communication & Issue Management, and Public Health Communication. Her interdisciplinary quantitative research explores organizational-stakeholder engagement dynamics, focusing on Corporate Social Advocacy (CSA), AI's ethical implications, and DEI in digital communication. Recent scholarship examines how groupthink affects crisis empathy and AI chatbots influence consumer boycott decisions.
