Chris Lyttleton is an Honorary Professor at Macquarie University's School of Communication, Society and Culture. His research focuses on global health, infectious diseases, and Southeast Asian studies. He has conducted extensive work on HIV/AIDS, malaria, and public health policy in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and China. Lyttleton has been involved in projects addressing health risks among marginalized groups, including migrants and ethnic minorities in the Greater Mekong Subregion.
Research Interests: Global Health Security, Transnational Health Issues, Cultural Dimensions of Medicine, Disease Control Strategies, and Development-Health Interactions. His work often explores how socioeconomic factors and globalization influence health outcomes in Southeast Asia.

- Infectious and non-infectious disease risks for marginal groups in the GMS (ongoing since 2018)
- Midwives, social recovery, and health politics in Aceh, Indonesia (2018–2020)
- Malaria and communicable diseases control in the Greater Mekong Subregion (2016)
Key Contributions: Over 49 peer-reviewed publications since 1994, with notable works on HIV/AIDS in Laos, tuberculosis in Vietnam, and the integration of traditional and Western medicine in Southeast Asia. His research bridges medical anthropology, public health, and development studies.
