Chris Koski is Daniel B. Greenberg Professor of Political Science and Environmental Studies at Reed College. His research investigates policy process dynamics, environmental governance, and energy policy design, with emphasis on climate adaptation, state-level regulatory innovation, and budgetary politics.
Scholarship employs theoretical frameworks including punctuated equilibrium and social construction to analyze net metering policies, target population receptivity, and executive influence on fiscal decisions. Recent work explores geoengineering attitudes and policy responsiveness in subnational contexts.
Recognized with the 2024 Theodore Lowi Award, he has authored influential texts on executive-interest group policy interactions and documentary approaches to American politics. Leads initiatives bridging political science and environmental studies pedagogy.
