معرفی
Dr. Chris Holmes is an Associate Professor at the University of Southampton, specializing in photonics and advanced manufacturing. He leads research in photonic systems, solid-state batteries, and fiber-optic sensing technologies. His work is funded by organizations like the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
- Educations: MPhys, PhD.
- Professional Memberships: Chartered Engineer (CEng), Chartered Physicist (CPhys), Fellow of the Institute of Physics (FInstP), Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
His research focuses on Roll-to-Roll (R2R) manufacturing of solid-state batteries, optical fiber sensors for composite materials, and ultra-high-Q photonic resonators. He collaborates with the Photonic Systems, Circuits and Sensors Group, Mechatronics, and Optical Engineering and Quantum Photonics Group. Current projects include developing novel flat fiber sensors and advancing quantum photonics applications.
Dr. Holmes has contributed to projects funded by EPSRC and DARPA, including the Future Composite Manufacturing Hub and the Coherent Heterodyne Robust Optical Microwave Emitter (CHROME). He is actively involved in supervising PhD students and welcomes applications in his research areas.
