Professor Chris Hancock is a faculty member at Bangor University's School of Computing and Engineering, specializing in Microwave Medical Devices. His research focuses on biomedical engineering innovations, particularly in nanosecond pulse systems, electrosurgery, and tissue ablation technologies.
Key projects include the KESS II collaborations with Creo Medical and Northick Park Institute of Medical Research, as well as the HandiPlasma System Development. He has supervised seven research projects and contributed to over 15 peer-reviewed publications since 2007.
His work spans disciplines such as oncology therapeutics, endoscopic surgical devices, and rapid response healthcare systems, with notable contributions to microwave antenna design for medical applications and GERD treatment technologies. Current research emphasizes continuous wave exposure for cancer organoids and novel pulse generators for biological response modulation.
