Chris Edgar serves as a Research Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies for the Natural Resources Science and Management program at the University of Minnesota.
He earned his Ph.D. in Natural Resources Science and Management from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Edgar's research focuses on forest measurements and biometrics with primary emphasis on the U.S. national forest inventory system. His work includes developing estimation methods and techniques, extending forest inventories to urban environments, monitoring timber product output, and analyzing forest disturbances. These research areas collectively contribute to more comprehensive forest resource assessment and sustainable management practices across diverse landscapes.
He teaches courses in Forest Management Planning, Measuring Forest Resources, and Measuring and Modeling Forests, which directly reflect his expertise in quantitative forest assessment methodologies.
