Chris Crandall is a full-time Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Kansas, with a career spanning institutions including the University of Washington, University of Michigan, Yale University, and the University of Florida.
- Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Michigan
His research focuses on prejudice expression mechanisms, stigma dynamics (particularly anti-fat bias), social norms of discrimination, and the interplay between democratic values and prejudice legitimization. He investigates covert warfare motivations, status quo preference, and friendship development through experimental and longitudinal studies.
Notable awards include the Distinguished Service to the Society Award from the Society for Personality and Social Psychology and leadership roles in major psychology organizations.
