Chris Campbell is an Adjunct Professor and Multimedia Specialist at the University of South Florida at Saint Petersburg, affiliated with the Department of Journalism and Digital Communication. He works at VideoWorks, the department’s in-house video production studio, where he films and edits online distance learning courses and videos for university departments and local businesses.
He teaches courses in photojournalism, video storytelling, and other multimedia disciplines. Prior to his current role, he worked as a biologist focused on animal behavior and as an environmental educator at zoos and museums. His educational background includes an M.A. in Documentary Filmmaking from the University of South Florida at Saint Petersburg (2013) and an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
His research interests bridge environmental communication and digital media, leveraging his expertise in biology and education to enhance multimedia storytelling techniques in journalism.
Chris contributes to the university’s VideoWorks lab, supporting academic and external video production needs.
