Dr. Chris Brown serves as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Science within Georgia State University's College of Arts and Sciences, where he teaches political economy of global markets, international political economy, comparative political economy, politics of development, comparative politics, and global issues. Concurrently, he holds the position of Vice President for Research and Analysis at the World Affairs Council of Atlanta as a founding officer.
His educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Georgia
- M.A. in Political Science from the University of Georgia
- B.A. from Sewanee: University of the South
Dr. Brown's research centers on International Political Economy with specialized focus on Country Risk Analysis and Global Markets. His work bridges academic theory and practical policy applications through the Robinson Country Intelligence Index (RCII), which provides a framework for analyzing how political systems interact with global economic forces. This research directly informs both his teaching methodology and public policy contributions.
As Department internship coordinator and director of a study abroad program in Ireland, Dr. Brown maintains active student mentorship. His Robinson Country Intelligence Index serves as a significant research infrastructure, integrated into 10 Georgia State University courses and utilized by approximately 2,500 students annually across multiple disciplines.
Dr. Brown directs the RCII research initiative at the World Affairs Council of Atlanta, where his team develops and refines this educational and analytical tool.
