Chris Ardern is Interim Dean of the Faculty of Health at York University and holds the rank of Associate Professor in the School of Kinesiology and Health Science. He is also an Affiliated Scientist at Southlake Regional Health Centre. His research focuses on epidemiology of movement behaviors (sleep, physical activity, sedentary time), obesity, cardiometabolic risk, and their relationships with the built environment, microvascular disease, and dementia. He leads the PA-REACH Lab, specializing in risk algorithms, behavioral profiling, and geospatial approaches to identify high-risk populations. Ardern has held roles including Associate Dean (Research and Innovation) and Graduate Program Director at York University.
