Chongzhi Di is a Professor in the Biostatistics Program at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Fred Hutch). He is affiliated with the Public Health Sciences Division and the Translational Data Science Integrated Research Center (TDS IRC) at Fred Hutch. His work bridges biostatistics and mobile-health (mHealth) technologies, focusing on statistical methods for functional and longitudinal data analysis.
- Education: PhD in Biostatistics from Johns Hopkins University (2009), BSc in Applied Mathematics from Peking University (2003)
Dr. Di specializes in:
- Statistical inference for complex models
- Functional and longitudinal data analysis
- Physical activity epidemiology using accelerometer data
- Mobile health tools (apps, wearables, ECG patches)
- Latent variable models and nonparametric regression
His recent research includes developing novel metrics for activity intensity, frequency, and duration, alongside flexible tools for quantifying dose-response relationships between activity patterns and health outcomes. This work is applied in large-scale studies like the Women’s Health Initiative.
