Chong Qiu is the Jacob F. Buckman Associate Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of New Haven's Tagliatela College of Engineering. He joined UNH in 2016 after teaching at the University of North Alabama and serving as a Visiting Scholar at NJIT. His research focuses on atmospheric chemistry, aerosol physics, and the environmental impacts of amines and soot aging, combining experimental, computational, and field-based approaches.
Dr. Qiu earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Tsinghua University (Beijing, China) and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Texas A&M University. He actively mentors students across disciplines, including math, physics, environmental science, and engineering. His work has been supported by NSF grants and institutional awards, such as the NSF Early Career Award.
