Choi Jiyoung

Choi Jiyoung serves as a Lecturer in Korean Studies at the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO), a prestigious French institution specializing in languages and civilizations of the world.

Her research focuses on Korean linguistics with particular emphasis on syntax and semantics. Her areas of investigation include temporality and grammatical/lexical aspect (inchoativity), syntax and semantics of interrogatives (wh-in-situ) and negation, syntax and semantics of NP/VP ellipsis, and language acquisition across different contexts (L1 vs. Heritage Language vs. L2).

Dr. Choi specializes in the CNU Discipline 07 - Language sciences: general linguistics and phonetics, with regional expertise in Asia. Her teaching portfolio centers on Korean Linguistics (Syntax and Semantics) and Korean Grammar.

She is affiliated with the CRLAO (Centre de Recherches Linguistiques sur l'Asie Orientale) research team, which focuses on linguistic research related to East Asia.
