Chloé Fandel

Chloé Fandel is an Assistant Professor of Geology at Carleton College since 2021, specializing in hydrogeology and environmental science communication. Her research focuses on groundwater-surface water interactions, karst landscape dynamics, and ecological resilience in arid systems.

Key projects include the Driftless Spring Survey examining groundwater contamination resilience across the Midwest, and collaborations with the Arizona Land and Water Trust addressing aquifer stress from agricultural pumping in the Santa Cruz River basin. She has developed educational materials on groundwater processes, including MODFLOW modeling resources and science illustration projects.
