Dr Chloe Peacock is a Lecturer in Criminology at the School of Law, University of Sheffield. Her research explores the intersections of criminal justice policy, structural inequalities (race, class, gender), and the role of ignorance in legitimizing state harms.

Her work focuses on:
- Media, political, and policy discourses of crime
- Criminal justice and social inequality
- Anti-racist activism and criminalization of protest
- Cultural politics of punishment
- Ignorance studies
Chloe’s publications highlight trends in structural racism, historical amnesia, and the cultural framing of criminal justice issues. She has received an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship for her research on ignorance in UK punishment politics. Her book, Racism and the Cultural Politics of Punishment, is due for publication in 2026. Chloe also collaborates with the Centre for Criminological Research and teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate criminology modules.
