Chloe Castle is a Researcher at the Multilingualism Research Centre and Sessional Teaching Academic at Macquarie School of Education, Macquarie University. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from The University of Adelaide with a thesis on language contact between English and Czech. Her research focuses on sociolinguistic aspects of multilingualism, grammatical borrowing, and heritage language maintenance.

Research Interests: Language contact mechanisms, bilingualism dynamics, Slavic linguistics, sociolinguistic identity construction, and policy-driven language maintenance. Her work explores how multilingual speakers navigate grammatical systems across languages, with particular focus on Czech-English bilingual communities in Australia and expatriate communities in Prague.
Recent Work Trends: Recent publications examine grammatical replication in South Australian Czech communities and Czech borrowings among English speakers in Prague, highlighting sociolinguistic factors influencing language attrition and maintenance.

Awards: 2021 Dean's Commendation for doctoral thesis excellence and 2022 Michael Clyne Prize.
