Chielo Eze is a Professor of Africana Studies and the Director of the Africana Studies Program at Carleton University, where she has been affiliated since 2023. Her work bridges African and African American literatures, focusing on decolonization, ethics, and global citizenship.
- Education: BA in Theology from St. Joseph’s Seminary, MA in African Studies from University of Bayreuth, PhD in African American and African Studies from Purdue University, and MFA from Purdue University.
Her research explores the intersections of decolonization, Black feminist praxis, ethical aesthetics, and postcolonial justice. She analyzes literary and political frameworks for understanding moral capital, global citizenship, and liberation movements in Africa and the African diaspora.
Recent publications highlight decolonization theories (2023), Black feminist literature (2023), and spiritual dimensions of justice (2021). Themes span political ethics, postcolonial literary analysis, and cosmopolitanism.
