معرفی
Chiara Toschi is a postdoctoral neuroscientist and Junior Research Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Oxford. Her research investigates neural circuit mechanisms governing adaptive and maladaptive behaviour, with emphasis on effort-based decision-making processes across brain regions.
Her academic qualifications include:
- PhD from University of Cambridge
- MSc from University College London (UCL)
- BSc from Royal Holloway University
Dr. Toschi's primary research examines neurotransmitter release dynamics and neuronal activity patterns during reward-effort tradeoff decisions. She integrates behavioural paradigms, electrophysiological recordings, and computational modeling to decode neural foundations of motivation. Her work bridges molecular neuroscience with cognitive theory to address disorders involving impaired decision-making.
She actively contributes to the Research Careers initiative as Editor, collaborating with Oxford's Careers Service to showcase non-academic career pathways for PhD graduates through curated profiles and podcast interviews with industry professionals.
Based at the Brain Network Dynamics Unit (BNDU), she participates in interdisciplinary teams exploring neural network dynamics while advancing science communication through her editorial work on career development resources.
