Chiara Bonfiglioli

Chiara Bonfiglioli is a Lecturer at University College Cork (Ireland) and an external associate of the Centre for Post-Socialist Studies (CKPIS). Previously, she was a postdoctoral fellow at CKPIS (2014–2017) and the University of Edinburgh (2012–2014). She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Bologna, and an MA/PhD in Gender Studies from Utrecht University’s Research Institute for History and Culture.

Her research focuses on women’s political/social activism in Cold War Italy/Yugoslavia, post-socialist transition impacts on gender relations, and the Yugoslav textile industry’s decline. Key projects include Weaving Socialism (oral history of Croatia’s garment sector) and the CITSEE EU citizenship project. She authored the forthcoming book Women and Industry in the Balkans (2019), and publishes widely in journals like Feminist Review and Women’s Studies International Forum.
