Dr. Chialing Hsieh is an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Texas at Tyler's College of Business, Department of Finance. She holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, an M.B.A. from Louisiana Tech University, and a B.A. in Public Finance from National ChengChi University. Her research focuses on Corporate Governance, Executive Compensation, and cross-border financial dynamics, particularly in U.S. and cross-listed firms. She has extensive industry experience in multinational banking and has taught at multiple institutions including Southern Illinois University and the University of North Texas at Dallas.
Dr. Hsieh’s research explores topics such as tax planning strategies, executive compensation design, and the impact of regulatory frameworks like the Sarbanes-Oxley Act on corporate behavior. Her work often intersects with labor economics, analyzing layoff decisions and their implications for CEO ownership and institutional investor reactions. She is a peer reviewer for several finance journals and an active member of the Financial Management Association International and Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.
Her teaching covers a broad range of finance topics including Financial Management, International Finance, and Investments. Her scholarship emphasizes practical applications of financial theories in corporate decision-making and global business contexts.
