Dr. Chet Horn serves as an Associate Professor of History at Southwestern Christian University since 2010. He holds a BA in Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, MA and PhD in History from the University of Oklahoma. His primary affiliations include the Mennonite Historical Society and Phi Alpha Theta. Specializing in American, Oklahoma, and Religious History, his research focuses on acculturation processes, early republic dynamics, and Mennonite identity preservation. Recent work examines Low German Mennonite communities in Oklahoma and their cultural adaptations post-WWII. Though no formal grants or awards are listed, his presentations highlight contributions to ethnic and religious history scholarship. Courses taught include American History surveys, Western Civilization, and specialized topics like the Cold War and Civil Rights Era. Office hours are held Monday/Wednesday 9:15-11:30am, 1:30-2:30pm, and other times by appointment in LLC 252.
