معرفی
Chester Joyner is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of the Center for Vaccines & Immunology at the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine. His research focuses on malaria immunology, Plasmodium vivax hypnozoites, and B cell/plasma cell biology. He employs cutting-edge technologies to develop vaccines and antimalarial strategies while advancing understanding of host immune systems.
Research Interests: B cell/plasma cell dynamics, Plasmodium vivax biology, malarial anemia pathogenesis, vector-borne diseases, and vaccine design. His work integrates immunology, parasitology, and systems biology approaches.
Recent publications highlight studies on plasma cell maturation mechanisms, malaria microbiome interactions, and Plasmodium knowlesi pathogenesis in nonhuman primates. His lab collaborates on NIH-funded projects exploring vaccine candidates and antimalarial drug targets.
Labs/Teams: Leads immunology research within the Department of Infectious Diseases and collaborates with the MaHPIC Consortium for malaria systems biology studies. Active in veterinary public health initiatives and zoonotic disease research.
