Cheryl Mallard

Cheryl Mallard, MSW, RSW, is a part-time faculty member at Memorial University of Newfoundland's School of Social Work. Her roles include Manager of Field Education and sessional instructor in social work practice courses, with over 25 years of professional experience in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Her research and practice interests focus on community-based social work, service user participation in program design, youth homelessness, mental health and addictions, and leadership development. She has presented at conferences such as the Atlantic Mental Health Summit (2010), Canadian Housing Renewal Association Congress (2010), and PEI Community Advisory Committee on Homelessness (2013).

Cheryl has served on committees including the National Learning Community on Youth Homelessness and former chair of Grace Sparkes House. She has completed advanced training in suicide intervention, leadership development, and organizational change management.
