Cheryl-Anne Cait is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social Work, Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario. Her roles span teaching, research, and clinical practice in social work and end-of-life care.
- Education: PhD (2001) from Smith College School for Social Work.
Research and Teaching Interests focus on death, dying, and bereavement, conceptualizing grief as an evolving identity-constructing process. She explores community-based hospice and palliative care, emphasizing volunteer recruitment, rural challenges, and diversity. Additional research includes the effectiveness of single-session therapy in walk-in counselling models and mentoring in Indigenous communities. She advocates for experiential learning and arts-based pedagogical methods.
Clinical Practice: Active since 1991 in community mental health and psychiatry, working with children, adolescents, and families.
