Cheryl Almeida

Cheryl Almeida is a Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Counselor Education at Johnson & Wales University (JWU), where she has been a full-time faculty member since 2011. She has been affiliated with JWU since 1995. With a Ph.D. in Developmental and Educational Psychology from Boston College, Almeida has over four decades of professional experience, including roles as a case manager, vocational rehabilitation counselor, and administrator.

Almeida teaches courses including Practicum & Internship, Clinical Faculty Supervision, and Research Methods in Applied Counseling Settings. She emphasizes hands-on training to prepare counselors for addressing community needs in turbulent times.
