Cherrihan Adra

Cherrihan Adra is a Research Fellow at the School of Science, Technology and Engineering, University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC), specializing in environmental microbiology and natural product chemistry with emphasis on discovering bioactive compounds from microorganisms for pathogen control.

Education:

• PhD in Doctor of Philosophy, University of the Sunshine Coast (2020-2023)

Research Interests: Her work centers on bioprospecting microorganisms to identify novel antimicrobial agents, particularly investigating antifungal compounds from streptomycetes and stingless bee propolis. Key focus areas include biodiscovery for biological control applications and developing natural products as alternatives to synthetic antimicrobials, with current projects analyzing propolis chemistry for antifungal properties.
